Recommendation
Legislative Platform
Provides direction to the City's Legislative Delegation on key priorities, projects,
and principles of the City Council.
Allows staff and TPA to identify priority bills that are being discussed in
Sacramento to create a targeted legislative outreach plan.
Allows City staff and TPA to act quickly on priority issues that are being discussed
in Sacramento that impact the City.
Adoption of a Legislative Platform does not mean thatTPA will only advocate
for bills that meet the platform. Any other legislation that is identified that could
impact Tustin, will be brought to the attention of staff and ultimately the City
Council.
Adoption of a Legislative Platform does not mean thatTPA will never ask for the
City's feedback on specific legislation that is covered under the platform — but if
something is time sensitive, it allows TPA to take quick action.
