HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM:PATRICK SANCHEZ, PARKS AND REREATION DIRECTOR SUBJECT: DECLARATION OF SURPLUS EQUIPMENT SUMMARY: The Parks & Recreation Department has accumulated obsolete and damaged equipment that is no longer useable or required for public use. RECOMMENDATION: 1. Declare the listed equipment surplus and not required for public use. 2. Authorize staff to have serviceable equipment auctioned and dispose of those assets deemed beyond repair. FISCAL IMPACT: No cost to the City, there will be a minimal financial return on auctioned items. BACKGROUND: The Parks and Recreation Department is no longer able to use the equipment listed, it has exceeded its service life. Staff proposes to offer these items for auction and dispose of those items deemed beyond repair. The following list represents items that City staff requests be declared surplus: 1. 1982 Ford E-250 Van 2. 1988 Dodge Dakota Pick-Up Truck Unit# 3006-H Unit# 3007 The Parks and Recreation Department will acquire from the Tustin Police Department a 1997 Dodge Ram Van and 1991 Chevrolet Astro Van as replacements to the aforementioned surplus vehicles.
