HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 85-128 RESOLUTION NO. 85-128 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE NORTHEASTERLY CORNER OF RED HILL AVENUE AND WALNUT AVENUE WHEREAS, the City of Tustin desires to improve Red Hill Avenue between Walnut Avenue and 370' + northerly of Walnut Avenue and Walnut Avenue between Red Hill Avenue and 580~- + easterly of Red Hill Avenue; and WHEREAS, Red Hill Avenue and Walnut Avenue are important arteries in the County of Orange and of general County interest; and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City; and WHEREAS, a negative declaration has been prepared in conformance with the California Environmental Quality Act and is hereby approved; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County Road budget for the Fiscal Year 1986-87 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Tustin hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds the amount of $181,200.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Red Hill Avenue between Walnut Avenue and 370' + northerly of Walnut Avenue and Walnut Avenue between Red Hill Avenue and 580'--+ easterly of Red Hill Avenue said improvements to be in accordance with the attached project statement; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said improvements on Red Hill Avenue and Walnut Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Tustin agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available for the Fiscal Year 1986-87.
