HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 97-48 1 2 RESOLUTION NO. 97-48 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE 4 CLASSIFICATION PLAN 8 WHEREAS, the City adopted a Classification Plan in 1984, by adopting Resolution No. 84-63; and 7 WHEREAS, it is desireable and appropriate to revise and 8 update the Classification Plan when appropriate; 9 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, does hereby resolve that the Classification Plan ]0 of the City of Tustin, dated August 20, 1984, is hereby amended to include the classification of Recreation Aide, as ]1 outlined in the attached job description. ]2 Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Tustin City Council held on the 2nd day of June, 1997. 13 15 ~/~OR ' 16 17 ATTEST: ' ~ITY"'QLERK ' CITY OF TUSTIN Class Specification Job Title: Recreation Aide Supervisor's Title: Recreation Coordinator Jobs Supervised: None Definition: Under direct supervision of a Recreation Leader, assists in planning, conducting and supervising recreation programs and activities. Incumbents may be assigned to a neighborhood park, day camp or other program. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assists in conducting a variety of recreation programs including games, sports, crafts, and special events. 2. Leads children or program participants in recreation activities. 3. Interfaces with children or program participants to ensure their safety in the recreation activities with which they are involved. 4. Assists the Recreation leader to prepare the necessary materials for the recreation activities. 5. Assists in clean-up activities and return of equipment tO storage. 6. PerfOrms other related activities as assigned. The preceding functions have been provided as examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. Qualifications Guidelines: Experience/Training/Education: . Must be 16 years of age or older. Paid or volunteer experience working with children or others in a recreational setting is highly desirable. Knowledge: Knowledge of methods of organizing and planning recreation programs and activities. Skills/Abilities: Skills required are leadership and organization to provide supervision over recreational activities. Ability to organize required materials for recreational activities and interface with children, program participants, and the public in a friendly and outgoing manner. Special Requirements/Certification: Proper documentation as required by law for legal employment if under 18 years of age.
