eComment: IN SUPPORT OF COMMUNITY CHOICE ENERGY Dear Mayor Clark and Tustin
City Council, My name is Margo Finlayson and I am Co-Chair of Climate Reality OC and a
member of several Orange County climate and environmental groups. Climate Reality is
committed to 100% clean energy and the rapid adoption of effective and equitable climate
solutions. It is great to see OCPA presenting here tonight. OCPA is the first JPA to bring
Community Choice Energy to Orange County cities and we see it as a way to accelerate the
transition to clean, renewable energy. Community Choice Energy and Aggregation offers cities a
means to reduce their carbon emissions while bringing in revenue and programs that can
support sustainability efforts in the community—dollars that Investor Owned Utilities would have
distributed to investors and stockholders. I hope you will take advantage of the information on
best practices and support available through CaICCA and established CCAs across the state as
you continue to talk with OCPA. You have a great opportunity to do this at the CaICCA Virtual
Annual Meeting December 1st. Information on this is available at https:Hcal-cca.org/public-
events/2021-annual-meetina/. Thank you for your consideration of Community Choice Energy
that can bring local control, more choices and renewable energy options for residents and
businesses, as well as long term revenues to the City of Tustin. Sincerely, Margo Finlayson,
