SUBJECT: LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES VOTING DELEGATE
SUMMARY:
Each League member city has the right to cast its vote on annual conference
resolutions. The voting delegate and alternate are appointed by the city prior to the
annual conference. To cast the city's vote the voting delegate must:
. Be registered to attend the conference.
. Have the city's voting card in their possession.
. Have registered with the Credentials Committee at the conference.
RECOMMENDATION:
Appoint a voting and alternate delegate for the League of California Cities Annual
Business Meeting schedueled for Saturday, September 9, 2006.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None
BACKGROUND:
This year's League Annual Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, September 6
through Sunday, September 9, 2006 in San Diego. One very important aspect of the
Annual Conference is the annual Business Meeting when the membership takes action
on conference resolutions.
To expedite the conduct of business, each city council is being requested to designate a
voting representative and an alternate who will be present the city at the Business
Meeting. League bylaws provide that each city is entitled to one vote in matters affecting
municipal or League policy.
