ERICA N. YASUDA, CITY CLERK
2022 PUBLIC ART COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS
Council direction is needed to fill three vacancies on the Public Art Committee due to term
expirations.
RECOMMENDATION:
Pleasure of the City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.
BACKGROUND:
On July 17, 2022, the following terms will expire: Kimberly Albarian (serving 1 St four-year
term), Erin Bruner (serving term to fill a vacancy) and Meg Gullo (serving 1St four-year
term). Since Erin Bruner was appointed to fill a vacancy, she is eligible to serve two four-
year terms. Staff contacted all three candidates and both Erin Bruner and Meg Gullo are
interested in continuing to serve. Unfortunately, Kimberly Albarian is unable to continue
to serve.
DISCUSSION:
Based on past practice, staff recommends that the City Council reappoint Erin Bruner and
Meg Gullo to serve a four-year term and direct the City Clerk to solicit applications for the
remaining vacancy. Staff recommends that the Mayor appoint an ad hoc committee to
screen the applications, interview select candidates and make a recommendation to the
City Council. An additional option includes directing the City Clerk to solicit applications
to fill all three vacancies.
