CDBG 2022 - 23 ACTION PLAN
FUNDING FOR PUBLIC SERVICES ACTIVITIES
February 26, 2020 - Citizen Participation Committee
recommended CDBG funding for twelve ( 12) non-profits
March 1 , 2022 - City Council approved continued funding
allocations for each of the non-profits for the third and final
year of the three-year funding cycle
THREE-YEAR VS . ANNUAL FUNDING FOR PUBLIC SERVICES
At the March 1 , 2022 public hearing, the City Council asked
Staff to explore the option of changing to one-year (annual)
funding for non-profits as opposed to three-year funding .
City Staff has evaluated both options, and recommends
continuing to fund non-profits on a three-year cycle.
THREE-YEAR VS . ANNUAL FUNDING FOR PUBLIC SERVICES
Three-year funding is recommended
Allows for longer-term assurances for funding
Despite outreach to over 80 non-profits, the same non-profits typically
apply
Historically, small funding amounts are awarded, and non-profits may
not be desirous of allocating staff time for one-year of funding due to
extensive federal reporting requirements
Subrecipients have expressed their desire to receive funding for three
years to maximize their efforts
