SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT AND AUTHORIZATION TO
FILE THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE TUSTIN FAMILY AND
YOUTH CENTER COURTYARD IMPROVEMENTS (CIP NO. 10085)
SUMMARY:
The Tustin Family and Youth Center Courtyard Improvements have been completed
and the project is ready for acceptance and filing of the Notice of Completion.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Adopt Resolution No. 22-39 accepting the Tustin Family and Youth Center
Courtyard Improvements (CIP No. 10085), and
2. Authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion with the County
Recorder's office.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Tustin Family and Youth Center Courtyard Improvements (CIP No. 10085) were in
the 2021 — 2022 Capital Improvement Program funded through Park Development
dollars (Fund 131). The final cost of the project was $93,980.
CORRELATION TO THE STRATEGIC PLAN:
The project advances Goal A of the City of Tustin Strategic Plan regarding Economic
and Neighborhood Development by providing opportunities for expanded recreational
activities.
BACKGROUND:
The scope of work included converting three parking stalls on the north side of the
parking lot into a multi -use courtyard that expanded the programmable space available
with a safer and more aesthetically pleasing location to more effectively serve the
southwest Tustin community. The project also includes ADA access improvements,
replacement of the existing shade structure fabric, landscape upgrades, and repainting
the building exterior with new colors.
Completed on July 7, 2022, this project was identified by the Community Services
Commission on their seven-year CIP priority list.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN
CALIFORNIA ACCEPTING THE WORKS OF IMPROVEMENT AND
AUTHORIZING THE RECORDATION OF THE NOTICE OF
COMPLETION FOR THE TUSTIN FAMILY AND YOUTH CENTER
COURTYARD IMPROVEMENTS (CIP NO. 10085)
WHEREAS, A2Z Construct Inc. having a contract with the City of Tustin to
construct the hereinafter described public works and improvement; and
WHEREAS, the Project Manager has duly certified to the construction and
completion of said public improvement hereinafter mentioned in a manner satisfactory
to the City Council of the City of Tustin; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said contractor has completed said public
improvement hereinafter more particularly described in accordance with the provisions
of the contract documents and the Notice of Completion, and acceptance of said public
work and improvement should be filed and payment of the balance due said contractor
authorized in accordance with the contract documents;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tustin
that said public work and improvement be accepted, and the same is hereby accepted.
Said public work and improvement is more particularly described as follows:
Tustin Family and Youth Center Courtyard Improvements
CIP No. 10085
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer of the City of Tustin is
hereby authorized to execute and file a Notice of Completion for the acceptance of said
public works and improvement described herein as required by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Tustin held on the 19th day of July 2022.
