HomeMy WebLinkAbout03 PC Minutes 07-24-06 ITEM #3 7:00 p.m. MINUTES REGULAR MEETING TUSTIN PLANNING COMMISSION JULY 24, 2006 CALL TO ORDER Given PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL Present: Chairperson Pro Tem Floyd Commissioners Nielsen, and puckett Absent: Commissioner Lee Staff present Jason Retterer, Deputy City Attorney Terry Lutz, Principal Engineer Scott Reekstin, Senior Planner Edmelynne Villanueva, Assistant Planner Eloise Harris, Recording Secretary None PUBLIC CONCERNS CONSENT CALENDAR Approved 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - JULY 10, 2006, PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING. It was moved by Nielsen, seconded by puckett, to approve the Consent Calendar. Motion carried 3-0. PUBLIC HEARING Adopted Resolution 2. No. 4030 CODE AMENDMENT 06-003 (REVISION TO TUSTIN CITY CODE SECTION 9322 RELATED TO LOT LINE ADJUSTMENTS) TO ENSURE THAT THE CITY'S SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE IS CONSISTENT WITH PROVISIONS OF THE ST ATE'S SUBDIVISION MAP ACT. RECOMMENDATION: That the Planning Commission adopt Resolution No. 4030. 7:01 p.m. The Public Hearing opened. Nielsen Asked if the Code Amendment would adversely affect any current projects. Reekstin Answered in the negative. Minutes _ Pianning Commission July 24, 2006 - Page 1 None Reekstin reported Nielsen Puckett Floyd Puckett It was moved by Puckett, seconded by Nielsen, to adopt Resolution No. 4030. Motion carried 3-0. REGULAR BUSINESS STAFF CONCERNS 5. REPORT OF ACTIONS TAKEN AT THE JULY 17 2006, CITY COUNCIL MEETING. The City Council: . recognized the Tustin First Advent Church's 125th anniversary. . finalized Community Facilities District No. 06-1 for the Villages of Columbus. . adopted the City's 2006-07 Budget. . set the interview date to fill the Planning Commission vacancy for August 7,2006, at 5:00 p.m.; the application deadline closed on July 20; the City Clerk received three applications. . had discussion and received public input regarding Design Review 06-013 for the Pasadena Avenue well site; the Council adopted the Final Mitigated Negative Declaration but did not take action on the Design Review; the Council asked staff to reconsider the design in response to the public testimony; the Design Review will probably go back to the Council. COMMISSION CONCERNS Thanked staff for the brevity of the presentations and for coming out this evening in very inclement weather. Stated he was thankful not to be one of the unfortunate people who lost power, having just spoken to a resident who had been without power since last Friday. Added that he would be leaving tomorrow on a white-water rafting trip. Indicated that Lou and Carol Bone were among the folks without power for two days. Added that Tustin Meadows was also without power. Minutes _ Planning Commission Juiy 24, 2006 - Page 2 Floyd Noted there was a nice article in the Los Angeles Times Sunday regarding Tustin Fields; the Times chooses a neighborhood to feature each week. Reminded everyone that Santa Cop takes place this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Clifton Miller Community Center. Congratulated Jason Retterer and his wife on the birth of their daughter, Sydney. Asked everyone to try to stay cool. 7:10 p.m. ADJOURNMENT The next regular meeting of the Planning Commission is scheduled for Monday, August 14, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber at 300 Centennial Way.
