HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 97-24 1 RESOLUTION NO. 97-24 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PROPOSED USE OF 3 FISCAL YEAR 1997-98 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FOR INCLUSION IN THE ONE-YEAR ACTION 4 PLAN. 5 WHEREAS, under the Housing and Community Development Act 6 of 1974, as amended, Federal assistance may.be provided for the support of community development activities which are 7 directed toward certain specific objectives as set forth in the Act as. the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 8 Program; and 9 WHEREAS, on February 26, 1997 a public meeting was held by the Ad Hoc Citizen Participation Committee to obtain and 10 consider citizen's views on the use of Fiscal Year 1997-98 CDBG funds as related to goals and objectives of the 11 Consolidated Plan; and 12 WHEREAS, during the February ~26, 1997 public meeting, citizens were furnished with information concerning the CDBG 13 Program, the range of eligible activities, and the proposed use of funds; and 14 WHEREAS, a staff report has been prepared transmitting to 15 the Council recommended funding priorities and amounts for proposed projects for the City's participation in the 1997-98 16 CDBG Program; and' 17 WHEREAS, a public hearing was held by the City Council to respond to questions and comments on the proposed use of CDBG 18 funds. 19 WHEREAS, the City CoUncil evaluated funding priorities and amounts based on recommendations of the Citizen 20 Participation Committee, public testimony received during the hearing and the amount of the City's grant; and 21 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City CoUncil of the 22 City of Tustin resolves as follows: 23 Section 1: The City of Tustin's proposed use of CDBG funds for Fiscal Year 1997-98 is hereby approved in the order 24 of prioritization identified by Council at their hearing of April 7, 1997, and in Exhibit A of this Resolution. 25 Section 2: Staff iS hereby directed to include the 26 proposed use of CDBG funds for'Fiscal Year 1997-98 in the one- year ActionsPlan to be submitted to the U.S.' Department of 27 Housing and Urban Development. 28 Resolution No. 97-24 Page 2 1 2 Section 3: The City Manager of the City of Tustin or his 3 designated representative is authorized to execute such documents, certifications, contracts, or other instruments as 4 may be required to carry out the City's Community Development Block Grant Program. 5 Section 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption 6 of this Resolution and shall file a copy of said application with the minutes of this City Council meeting. 7 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of 8 Tustin, at a regular meeting on the 7th day of April, 1997. 11 ~aR~CY LLS WORLEY~ 12 14 yLA STOKER, CITY CLERK 15 STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) COUNTY OF ORANGE ) SS 16 CITY OF TUSTIN ) 17 CERTIFICATION FOR RESOLUTION NO. 97-24 18 PAMELA STOKER, City Clerk and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, does hereby certify 19 that the whole number of the members of the City Council of the City of Tustin is five;
