UPDATE DISCUSSION ITEM
SUMMARY:
Discussion and consideration by the City Council acting in its capacity as the Local Reuse
Authority (LRA) for former Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Tustin whether to hold an
LRA public meeting to receive updates from participating public agencies on
redevelopment at Tustin Legacy in Quarter 1 of 2024.
RECOMMENDATION:
Pleasure of the City Council.

Not applicable.
DISCUSSION:
This discussion item is agendized pursuant to the direction by City Council on October
17, 2023, to consider whether to direct staff to schedule a special meeting of the City
Council, acting in its capacity as the LRA, to receive updates from participating public
agencies responsible for redevelopment at Tustin Legacy.
Pending direction from Council, staff will reach out to the various public agencies
responsible for development at former MCAS Tustin inviting them to participate in an
upcoming public forum regarding the status of their respective development activities.

Brief Summary of Narrative of In 1992, the City was designated the Local Reuse Authority (LRA) for
the Item's Intent: former MCAS Tustin. The LRA last received public updates from
entities developing within the former MCAS Tustin in June 2021.
Public updates on status, future plans and obstacles/opportunities
provide a forum for the public to learn and provide comments, as
well as ensure the former MCAS Tustin is being developed as
planned.
Direct staff to schedule a special meeting of the City Council acting
in its capacity as the LRA to hold a public forum to receive
development updates, and ask questions of, the various public
agencies responsible for development at former MCAS Tustin. The
special meeting shall be held in Q1 2024.
