RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council take the following actions: Adopt Resolution No. 24-10 accepting the construction of the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Roadway Rehabilitation and Sidewalk Repair Project - Zone 4 (CIP No. 70022); and 2. Authorize the City Engineer to execute and file the Notice of Completion with the Orange County Recorder's Office. FISCAL IMPACT The final construction cost for the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Roadway Rehabilitation and Sidewalk Repair Project - Zone 4 (CIP No. 70022) is $4,835,229.11 including change order work. Sufficient funds were budgeted and appropriated in the Capital Improvement Program, using Measure M2 Fair Share (Fund 139) and Gas Tax (Fund 130). CORRELATION TO THE STRATEGIC PLAN Rehabilitation of roadways and repair of sidewalks contribute to the fulfillment of the City's Strategic Plan Goal B: Public Safety and Protection of Assets. Specifically, the project implements Strategy #5, which among other items, is to ensure continuous maintenance and improvement of public facilities. DISCUSSION The City is divided into seven pavement zones with one zone targeted each year for pavement maintenance. The current phase, Zone 4 (see attached map), is generally bounded by Interstate Freeway 5 to the north, Tustin Ranch Road to the east, Edinger Avenue to the south and Newport Avenue to the west. The Annual Roadway Rehabilitation and Sidewalk Repair Project - Zone 4 (CIP No. 70022) consisted of asphalt concrete pavement repair, asphalt concrete overlay, slurry sealing, traffic striping, and removal and replacement of curb ramps to meet current federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements on various streets within Zone 4 of the City's Pavement Management Program. Also, within Zone 4 boundaries six (6) concrete catch basin lids were improved via the Citywide Storm Drain Catch Basin Improvement Project, CIP No. 50043, and additional sidewalk improvements at 6th Street and B Street were included within the contractor's scope of work. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tustin that said public works and improvement is found to be complete, and the same is hereby accepted. Said public works and improvement is more particularly described as follows: FY 2022-23 Roadway Rehabilitation and Sidewalk Repair Project - Zone 4 CIP NO. 70022 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer of the City of Tustin is hereby authorized to execute and file a Notice of Completion for the acceptance of said public works and improvement described herein as required by law.
