BACKGROUND
The Orange County Marathon footrace is scheduled for Sunday morning, January 8, 2006.

The resolution is required by Caltrans to ensure that all appropriate governmental agencies
are aware of the closure of SR 261.
Our Police Department, in conjunction with our Public Works Department, has been working
with the Orange County Marathon organizers to provide logistical support for the road
closures. The ramp to southbound SR 261 at Portola Parkway and northbound SR 261 at
Jamboree Road will be closed for the six hour period.
The adoption of Resolution 06-126 notifies the State of California that our agency is aware of
the road closures on SR 261.
