SUBJECT: REVISION TO PARKING COMPARISON MATRIX
Agenda Item #4 is a workshop to discuss, in part, parking requirements for multi-family
residential projects in the Downtown Commercial Core Specific Plan (DCCSP) and Red
Hill Avenue Specific Plan (RHASP). Two (2) matrices in the staff report compare the
City's parking requirements with five (5) neighboring cities.
Staff has identified an error in the parking matrices. In short, the parking requirement
for Santa Ana is shown incorrectly.
Santa Ana's multi-family parking standard requires each unit to have one parking space
that is covered or located in a garage. The standard also requires one additional
parking space (covered or open) for each bedroom within a unit. Santa Ana's Code
then requires that 25% of the total number of parking spaces be reserved for guests.
Attached are revised matrices that accurately reflect Santa Ana's parking requirement.
Tustin Planning staff have verified the accuracy of the revised matrix with Santa Ana's
Planning staff. The staff report posted online has also been updated.
