As you know for every signature there are many other Tustin residents who also oppose rezoning Enderle for housing. Therefore, we are asking you to make a responsible informed decision by voting no for the housing overlay to rezone Enderle Center. While the State is mandating affordable housing, Enderle is not the right site. The housing overlay for Enderle Center raises significant problems related to increased traffic congestion, parking issues, lack of infrastructure for high density utilities, safety issues on and off freeway on 17th street, increased population and housing density in an area which is already a high density area. Furthermore, Enderle Center is a cultural resource that provides restaurants, landscaped areas for the community and an outdoor area for student performances, holiday celebrations and community events. High rise housing to accommodate 413 units would not serve the community. We urge you to carefully consider the long-term implications of a housing overlay at Enderle and to explore alternative housing sites that would better serve the needs of all community members. As an elected member of the city council, please make a decision that prioritizes the well- being of our community and vote NO housing overlay at the Enderle site. Thank you.
