While I, along with other citizens, support the revitalization of the Enderle Center, and understand the requirement for affordable housing, the proposal to allow 413 housing units on the Enderle location is not in the best interest of our city residents. Enderle Center is a Tustin landmark and currently offers city residents dining, shopping, and a place for community musical performances, children's shows, car shows, outdoor concerts and holiday celebrations. Rezoning for housing and the vertical structures required for housing units and parking raises concerns about the loss of a loved Tustin landmark and a gathering place for the community of Tustin. Furthermore, the proposed 413 housing units on the Enderle site, with possibly more than 826 people and cars in an already dense area with businesses, condos and houses will cause increased traffic congestion on 171h street and Yorba, and infrastructure problems and safety issues. For these reasons and more, I respectfully implore the City Council, as our elected representatives, to find a location that truly serves the best interests of our community and does not compromise the Enderle area with vertical housing, parking structures and more traffic congestion. Thank you for your dedication to the well-being of our city and for voting no for a housing overlay for the Enderle site. Sincerely,
