SUBJECT: 2025 LOCAL APPOINTMENTS LIST
SUMMARY:
Prior to December 31 st of each year, the Maddy Act requires municipal agencies to prepare
and post a listing of all Commission/Board vacancies for the upcoming year.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the 2025 Local Appointments List for the Planning Commission, Community
Services Commission, Audit Commission, Building Board of Appeals and Public Art
Commission and post notice as required by law.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
Government Code Sections § 54970-54975 were enacted to ensure that members of the
public are aware of opportunities to serve on local boards, commissions and committees
which are appointed by the City Council. The Code also mandates that municipal
agencies compile a list of all City Council -appointed commissions that meet on a regular,
on -going basis.
The list contains the name of the incumbent, date of appointment, date the term expires,
and necessary qualifications for the position. The list is required to be posted prior to
December 31st of each year and distributed to the public upon request.
The 2025 Local Appointments List will be posted as required by law.

2025 LOCAL APPOINTMENTS LIST
Pursuant to Government Code Section § 54972, the following is a list of all regular commission,
committee and board members appointed by the City Council. Term expirations that will occur
during calendar year 2025 are identified with an asterisk (*). Further information regarding these
vacancies may be obtained from the City Clerk's Office at (714) 573-3026.
Qualifications: The Planning Commission shall consist of five (5) members, each of whom shall be
both residents and registered voters of the City during all times they hold office.
Terms of Office: The term of office shall be for four (4) years.
Limitation on Consecutive Terms of Office: For all terms that commence after January 1, 2017, no
person shall be eligible to serve more than two (2) consecutive four-year terms.

exception. Up to two (2) members may reside and be registered voters within the area served by the
Tustin Water Department (+), but outside the City.
Terms of Office. The term of office shall be for four (4) years.
Limitation on Consecutive Terms of Office: For all terms that commence after January 1, 2017, no

person shall be eligible to serve more than two (2) consecutive four-year terms on the Audit Commission.
A term of office that commenced prior to January 1, 2017, shall not be counted when determining the
number of consecutive terms a Commissioner has served.

consecutive four-year terms.
