Navy North Hangar
Status Update
Em ergency Response/Recovery Update
• Above Ground Inspection and Remediation:
• Above Ground (roofs and gutters) operations continue in regulatory agency -
approved areas for addresses that signed up during the enrollment period.
• Residential inspection & remediation crews continue to work 7 days a week to
complete the last phase of the response.
• Debris Removal:
• All bagged debris waste from community cleanup continues to be removed from
residential areas, stored near the North Hangar, and disposed of per the regulatory
agency -approved Navy Work Plan.
Above Ground Inspection/Remediation
• Updates and Milestones
• 2,093 individual address requests for residential cleaning and inspection were received during
the enrollment period.
• Over 2,000 addresses have been remediated, including schools, commercial buildings, multi-
family homes, and single-family homes.
• Addresses that remain are primarily single-family homes in Columbus Square, The Landing and
Tustin Meadows.
• We are currently scheduled to complete this phase of the response by April 24, 2025.
• Following completion of above -ground work, reporting and request for close-out of the
residential cleanup will occur in coordination with the regulatory agencies.

• The Navy and City have a Seventh Amended Cooperative Agreement that provides
funding for up to $105.8M
• $17.8M of the $105.8M is specifically for above -ground work
• As of April
14, the
City
has
invoiced the Navy appx $88.6M and the Navy has approved for
payment
or paid
the
City
appx $62M
• $12.3M (20%) of the $62M has come since January 1, 2025

North HangarDebris Operat
• North Hangar Debris Removal:
• IEM and City continue to coordinate and monitor progress
at the site with Navy and their subcontractors.
• The Navy has assumed most duties and responsibilities
for securing and maintaining the North Hangar site.
• Navy has surpassed 50% as of March 2025
• Monthly updates and photos on Navy website
Air Monitoring and Surveillance:
• Data collection continues around the North Hangar.
• Reports collected do not show any releases or elevated
risk of harm to the public, according to environmental
health agencies.
