BUILDING BOARD OF APPEALS APPOINTMENTS
City Council approval is required for the Mayor's appointment of two Building Board of
Appeals members.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve the following appointments by the Mayor: Douglas
Armstrong (first four-year term) and Cristian Arranaga (first four-year term).
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.
CORRELATION TO THE STRATEGIC PLAN:
The Building Board of Appeals appointments contribute to the fulfillment of the City's
Strategic Plan Goal D. Strong Community and Regional Relationships by promoting
leadership opportunities within the community.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
On March 4, 2025, the City Council directed the City Clerk to solicit applications for
the remaining vacancies on the Building Board of Appeals. As of May 2, 2025,
two applications were received. On June 2, 2025, Mayor Lumbard interviewed both
Douglas Armstrong and Cristian Arranaga. The Mayor has appointed the individuals
listed above, subject to approval by the City Council. The Mayor has requested that this
item be placed on the agenda to approve the appointments.
