YASUDA, CITY CLERK PLANNING COMMISSION APPOINTMENT City Council approval is required for the Mayor's Planning Commission appointment. RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council: 1. Approve the Mayor's appointment of Meg Gullo to the Planning Commission; and 2. Direct the City Clerk to solicit applications for the resulting vacancy on the Public Art Commission. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this item. CORRELATION TO THE STRATEGIC PLAN: City Commission appointments contribute to the fulfillment of the City's Strategic Plan Goal D. Strong Community and Regional Relationships by promoting leadership opportunities within the community on City Commissions. BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION: On August 22, 2025, Dave Mello resigned from the Planning Commission, creating a vacancy for the remainder of his term through March 1, 2029. On September 10, 2025, the City Clerk solicited applications to fill this vacancy; at the close of the application period, a total of seven applications were received. The Mayor has requested that this item be placed on the agenda to approve the appointment. Meg Gullo currently serves on the Public Art Commission; therefore, her appointment to the Planning Commission will create a vacancy on the Public Art Commission. ErL N. ya4adal Erica N.
