Hello,
I am a resident of Tustin (ZIP Code 92780) writing in support of the full build out of the proposed Cypress Grove
Residential Project. Neither Alternative that proposes No Build or Reduced Build are beneficial to our community.
We are desperately in need of additional housing in Orange County; not only because it's the right thing to do for
young families like my own, but also because additional investment in housing brings jobs, increases the tax base of
the city, and keeps the decision -making of where housing gets built local instead of the state rezoning for us.
Families like mine are looking for this exact type of housing to grow our families. Our dream house is one in an area
where biking and walking are not only feasible, but encouraged through biking infrastructure and proximity to daily
activities such as the park and the grocery store, both of which are nearby to the proposed site.
Additionally, this project contributes towards our environmental goals for our community. Goal 1 from the
Conservation / Open Space / Recreation Element Section of the City of Tustin General Plan is: Reduce air pollution
through proper land use, transportation and energy use planning.
One of the ways the city has outlined to accomplish this goal is by building denser housing near retail as outlined in
Policy 1.3: Locate multiple family developments close to commercial areas to encourage pedestrian rather than
vehicle travel.
I urge the City Council to vote in favor of the full build out of this project in order to strengthen our community
from friendly new neighbors who contribute as an increased tax base, give our families much needed housing
options close to daily trips, and to meet our own environmental and sustainability goals as a city.
Sincerely,
Jordyn Kieft
