RESOLUTION NO. 85-13
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUSTIN CONCERNING THE JOHN WAYNE
AIRPORT MASTER EXPANSION PLAN
The City Council of the City of Tustin does hereby resolve as follows-
I ·
The City Council of the City of Tustin supports a reasonable
facilities expansion and increase in the maximum commercial carrier
average daily departures at the Orange County John Wayne Airport.
This position is predicated on increased aircraft noise not adversely
impacting the city of Tustin.
II.
III.
The City Council opposes consideration or selection of any
alternative airport site in Orange County if such consideration or
selection by the County includes Santiago Canyon or MCAS E1 Toro as
potential sites for general or commercial aviation purposes-.
Concerning preferential runway departures, the City Council opposes
any artificial restriction on airport operations requiring aircraft
departures toward Tustin for any purpose other than the safe
operation of aircraft based upon wind .conditions.
IV.
The City Council's position which does not advocate
of average daily departures, recognizes the County's
the demand for commercial aircraft operations.
