RESOLUTION NO. 83-101
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, RELATING TO THE CLASSIFICATION, COMPENSATION,
AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT OF NON-ADMINISTRATIVE AND NON-
MANANAGEMENT SWORN POLICE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN.
WHEREAS, the City management representatives have met and con-
ferred with the representatives of the Tustin Police Employees Association
on behalf of the non-management and non-administrative sworn police
personnel; and,
WHEREAS, the Meet and Confer sessions have resulted in an agree-
ment and understanding pertaining to the subject of wages, benefits and con-
ditions of employment for the non-administrative and non-management police
employees of the City; and,
WHEREAS, the City now desires to provide salary increases
changes in benefits to said police employees of the City of Tustin;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tustin, Calfiornia
does hereby resolve as follows'
Section 1: Compensation Provisions' Existing salary ranges and rates of
al"l .... non-'ad'ministrative and 'non-management sworn poli ce employees shall be
increased by one percent (1%) effective November 21, 1983, and by one per-
cent {1%) effective the first pay period of fiscal year 1984/85. Each
employee'assigned to said classifications upon the above mentioned dates
shall receive a salary at the step at which the employee is then serving.
Section 2- Retirement Compe. nsation' Effective November 21, 1983, City.
Shall pay 'three"and o~'e-half pe~'cent (3.5%) of the employee's portion of the
Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) cOntribution.
Section 3' Administrative R. egulations. The City Manager is authori zed to
issue written admi nistrai~ive pers'o'nnel regulations designed to augment or
clarify the provisions of this Resolution.
Section 4- Personnel Rules and Regulations. The Tustin Personnel Rules and
R'egulation's are"hereby am'ended'in all particulars covered by this resolution
as necessary to effect conformity with the Memorandum of Understanding
between Ithe City of Tustin and the Tustin Police Employees Association
effective November 21, 1983 to December 31, 1984.
Section 5' Effective Date. Unless otherwise specified to the contrary in
this R'esol"ution 'al'l pro'visions shall be effective as of November 21, 1983.
PASSED AND APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
the City of Tustin, California, held on the 21st day of November, 1983.
