HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 83-113 CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 83-113 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE IN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF MYFORD ROAD FROM THE TERMINUS OF THE MOULTON PARKWAY FAU PROJECT TO MICHELLE DRIVE WHEREAS, the City of Tusttn desires to improve Myford Road between the AT & SF Railroad and Michelle Drive; and WHEREAS, Myford Road is an important arterial highway in the County of Orange and of general' interest; and WHEREAS, Article' 2 and Articl · 3, Chapter 9, Divi sion 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, tf it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement; construction or repair of a street within a City; and , WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by-appropriate action, provide in the County Road budget for the Fiscal Year 1984 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Tustin hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds an amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Myford Road between the AT & SF Railroad and Michelle Drive, said improvements to be in accordance with the project report. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County orange is hereby requested to find that said improvements on Myford Road, the manner provided, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Tustin agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program and further agrees that its share of ithe cost of improvements and rights-of,way wil I be available for the Fiscal Year 1984-85. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tustin at a regular meeting held on this 19th day of December, 1983.
