THANKSGIVING WORK SCHEDULE: Crews will be working on Thanksgiving morning from 0600 —
1130, and then will be pausing work for the remainder of the day. Work will resume as usual on Friday,
November 24ch
RESIDENTIAL UNVERIFIED DEBRIS INVESTIGATION AND MITIGATION:
We are happy to report that today, crews started investigating and mitigating unverified reports of debris related
to the hangar fire in the Columbus Square Community. Crews will be assessing the exterior portions of the front
and back yards. They will inspect these unverified reports and mitigate any potentially hazardous debris items.
This debris is unverified until laboratory testing confirms what it contains. The resident will be notified if any of
this material is confirmed to contain asbestos or other potentially hazardous material associated with the fire.
We will continue utilizing our residential inspection program to investigate every unverified debris report
throughout the impacted area. If you believe you have debris related to the incident, please report any expected
debris using our debris reporting portal on our webpage at Tustinca.org or call 714-426-2444.
FIRE SUPRESSION / DECONSTRUCTION OF THE HANGAR: Work has resumed after the wind event
to extinguish all remaining hotspots of the hangar fire. Part of this effort involved the use of a drone with
infrared (IR) capability to identify hidden pockets of heat in the debris piles, and guide crews to saturate those
locations. A few remaining small areas of heat are being addressed, and we expect full extinguishment in the
next 48-72 hours. Contracted specialists have been working to safely extinguish any remaining hotspots located
on the hangar site for several days, which included the deconstruction of the remaining hangar walls and intense
saturation of debris by mobile water trucks for fire suppression and dust abatement. Currently, there is no
visible fire or smoke from the hangar site. At the present time, no action will be taken on the hangar doors or
concrete pillars, which will be addressed at a later date. A plan is being developed to stabilize the doors in place
for the safety of our workers and the public.
AIR MONITORING INFORMATION: Air monitoring and sampling locations have been set up surrounding
the North Hangar Fire incident to provide the Incident Management Team real-time information on Particulate
Matter (PM) in the air. While the units are in place, a graph showing the average reading for the last 24 hours
has been provided for the public's reference. This graph can be accessed from the Hangar Incident website
located at https://tustinca.org.
N95 Mask Availability: In response to requests from community members, the City of Tustin has procured a
limited number of N95 masks. These masks will be available free to community members at the following
locations and hours of operation. These locations will be closed Thanksgiving Day through the weekend. They
