ALL UPDATED INCIDENT INFORMATION IN BLUE. SCHOOLS • All 29 Tustin Unified School District (TUSD) schools have been inspected, mitigated, and cleared. Heritage Elementary opened today with Legacy Magnet Academy opening tomorrow, December 20, 2023. DEBRIS CLEARANCE UPDATE: RESIDENTIAL • Certified Asbestos Consultants (CACs) and Asbestos Mitigation teams completed a total of 8 residential inspections and mitigations and 8 inspections. To date, a total of 1,143 reports have been reported to the portal, of which 1,131 have been inspected and 963 have been mitigated and cleared. PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAYS • Certified Asbestos Consultants (CACs) and Asbestos Mitigation teams have completed 100% of the public right of ways. • A 1 '/4 mile stretch of the railroad tracks beginning at Redhill and Edinger was fully mitigated Saturday, December 91" by a crew of more than 100. PARKS Veterans Sports Park and Legacy Park have reopened. All Tustin parks are open. HEALTH & SAFETY UPDATE / 0 SO it�j-"ri NAVY HANGAR FIRE Daily Update Date: December 19, 2023 County of Orange Health Officer & Chief of Public Health Services Regina ChinsioKwong, in a letter this week to Tustin Mayor Austin Lumbard and his City Council colleagues, informed City officials that air monitoring of the Navy Hangar Fire site in Tustin by multiple health and environmental regulators shows no concern regarding airborne asbestos. Dr. ChinsioKwong's letter also states that air monitoring of metals collected to date were under the level of concern or were not detected. Experts from the IMT's Environmental Unit have determined that testing indoor spaces is not necessary, thanks to reassuring test results from nearby facilities. View the Health & Safety Tips here: https://www.tustinca.org/DocumentCenter/View/l 1436/OCHCA-Health-and-Safety-Tips View the Incident Phase Community Guide here: https://www.tustinca.org/DocumentCenter/View/l 1435/OCHCA-Community-Guide-to-Phases NAVY HANGAR SITE OPERATIONAL UPDATE: DOOR DECONSTRUCTION COMPLETED • The process began on December 5th with the moving of heavy equipment and other materials to the area after the application of the Tackifier (Gorilla Snot). • The first hangar door was deconstructed on Friday, December 8, 2023. • Deconstruction of the remaining hangar door was completed December 1 11" • The removal of the pillboxes (external structures) connected at the top of the concrete pillars is now complete. • The door deconstruction process was estimated to take 2-2.5 weeks and was completed in 13 days. GENERAL INFORMATION: RESIDENTIAL UNVERIFIED DEBRIS INVESTIGATION AND MITIGATION Inspection and mitigation teams are actively working through residential neighborhoods. If more information is needed, the community may call 714-426-2444, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. SAMPLING AND REMEDIATION PROCCESS Below is a step-by-step process for how our teams will respond to reported debris: 1. Your report will be assigned to a Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) schedule an onsite inspection of your residence or business. 2. *The CAC or Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) will visit your home to collect a sample of the debris to be sent off -site fortesting. You will be contacted to confirm whether the debris is Asbestos Containing Material (ACM). 3. *If the debris tests positive for asbestos, an ACM Remediation Team will be assigned to return to your home to clean-up the debris. Upon completion of the clean-up, a separate team will return to your residence or business to confirm a successful remediation of the area. *PLEASE NOTE THAT STEPS 2 AND 3 MAY BE COMPLETED SIMULTANEOUSLY. 4. You will be asked by the CAC or CSSTto sign a release of liability. This form solely provides consent for the teams to access your private property to investigate and remediate any suspected material.
