HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 83-13 CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 83-13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE IN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY BRIDGE PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MYFORD ROAD BRIDGE OVER THE EL MODENA-IRVINE FLOOD CONTROL CHANNEL WHEREAS, the City of Tustin desires to improve Myford Road Bridge over the E1 Modena-Irvine Channel; and WHEREAS, Myford Road is an important arterial highway in the County of Orange and of general interest; and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County Road budget for the Fiscal Year 1983 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Tustin hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds an amount to be used in the improvements of the Myford Road E1 Modena-Irvine Bridge, said improvements to be in accordance with the project report. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said improvements on Myford Road Bridge, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Tustin agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program and further agrees that rights-of-way will be available for the Fiscal Year 1983-84. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tustin at a regular meeting held on this 7th day of February, 1983.
