HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 82-7910 11 12 13 14 15 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 ~ 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 82-79 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING REHABILITATION AND RESTORATION OF THE OLD COUNTY COURTHOUSE IN SANTA ANA BY THE COUNTY OF ORANGE WHEREAS, legislation was recently passed that would permit the State of California to take over the old courthouse in Santa Aha, which is owned by the County of Orange, unless the County of Orange has working drawings completed by June, 1983, and construction started by December, 1983; and WHEREAS, the courthouse is located on premiere land worth $1.6 million; and WHEREAS, the courthouse has been the focus of County government for over eighty years and should be preserved as a historical monument; and WHEREAS, rehabilitation and restoration of the courthouse by the County for use as a new Appeals Court and possibly a County Museum would be both a financial and historical asset; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the City of Tustin supports rehabilitation and restoration of the old courthouse of Santa Ana under County ownership and funds in an expeditious manner within the time frame outlined in the amendments to Assembly Bill 3763.
