RESOLUTION NO. 82-51
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING AND EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
FRANCIS OSCAR OSTRANDER FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE AND ACTION
AS A CROSSING GUARD
WHEREAS, Francis Oscar Ostrander has served the City of Tustin as
a school crossing guard since September of 1980; and
' WHEREAS, in that capacity, Mr..Ostrander has provided invaluable
service to the children of Tustin is assuring their safety while going to
and from school; and
WHEREAS, on May 14, 1982, Mr. Ostrander showed exemplary alertness
and took prompt action which undoubtedly saved the life of a young Beswick
School student; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ostrander disregarded his own safety and possible
physical injury in pulling said student from the path of an on- Coming
vehicle,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Tustin hereby recognizes and commends Mr. Ostrander for his outstanding
service and meritorious action which are in the highest tradition of
crossing guards and Tustin employees; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council expresses its
appreciation for the alertness of Mr. Ostrander in saving a student's life
at risk to his own.
