HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 96-201 RESOLUTION NO. 96-20 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN APPOINTING GEORGE JEFFRIES AS CITY 3 TREASURER 4 WHEREAS, the City Council desires to have the benefit of the expertise and experience of George Jeffries in investing City's 5 surplus funds and performing the duties of a City Treasurer, and 6 WHEREAS, George Jeffries is willing to serve as City Treasurer, 7 NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tustin resolves 8 as follows: 9 SECTION 1: George Jeffries is hereby appointed City Treasurer, to serve as a part-time employee of the City, under the 10 direction and supervision of the City Council. As Treasurer, Mr. Jeffries shall report directly to the City Council. 11 SECTION 2: Mr. Jeffries shall coordinate his activities 12 with the Finance Department and other City Departments. 13 SECTION 3: Mr. Jeffries shall invest surplus City funds and provide reports of such investments in accordance with Section 14 1612 of the Tustin City Code, the approved investment policy, all applicable provisions of state law, including Government Code 15 Sections 53600.3 and 53600.5, and as may be further directed by the City Council. 16 SECTION 4: Mr. Jeffries shall perform the City Treasurer's 17 duties as specified by state law, and in the job description attached to Resolution No. 96-19. 18 SECTION 5: Mr. Jeffries shall be compensated as a part- 19 time employee as specified in Resolution No. 96-19. 20 SECTION 6: The bond required of the City Treasurer shall be paid by the City. 21 PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of 22 the City of Tustin on the 5th day of February, 1996. 23 24 ' JIM PO , MAYOR 25 26 ATTEST: 27 P ELA STOKER 28 CITY CLERK City of Tustin RESOLUTION CERTIFICATION STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) COUNTY OF ORANGE ) CITY OF TUSTIN ) RESOLUTION NO. 96-20 ss Pamela Stoker, City Clerk and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, does hereby certify that the whole number of the members of the City Council is five; that the above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 5th day of February, 1996, by the following vote: COUNCILMEMBER AYES: Potts, Worley, Doyle, Saltarelli, Thomas COUNCILMEMBER NOES: None COUNCILMEMBER ABSTAINED: None COUNCILMEMBER ABSENT: None
