A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF WATER
RESOURCES CONSERVATION PROGRAM IN ORANGE COUNTY
WHEREAS, on September 27, 1979, the. Governor of the State of Cali-
5 fornia signed into law Senate Bill 201; and
6 WHEREAS, Senate Bill 201 directs the State of California, Department
of Water Resources, to acquire and distribute household water conservation
~ devices and instructional and curriculum materials for water conservation
education for Grades K through 8; and

WHEREAS, the California Department of Water ResoUrces plans to con-
9 duct a distribution program in various sections of the State of California,
including Orange County, in 1981; and

WHEREAS, various water agencies and cities in Orange County are also
11 engaged in. water conservation activities; and
~ WHEREAS, the City of Tustin operates a water service and desires to
assist the Department of Water Resources in its water conservation programs
~ and coordinate such programs with the water conservation activities of various
water agencies and cities in Orange County;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the city of
·
15 Tustin, California, hereby supports the Department of Water Resources 1981
Program to distribute water conservation kits by mail to Orange County house-
16 holds,, and to disseminate water conservation education materials to Grades A~,
through 8.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Tustin City Council encourages the
18 Tustin community to practice water conservation methods but accepts no respon-
sibility for any damages arising from the use of such devices, and expresses
~9 caution that poly-bag toilet tank water displacers may increase the possi-
bility of blockage in household sewer lines through the reduction of water
~0 flow.

fornia, at a regular meeting held on January 5, 1981.
