RESOLUTION NO. 80-37
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIa, PERTAINING
TO THE PROVISION OF WORKERS COMPENSATION
COVERAGE FOR CITY VOLUNTEERS.
The City Council of the City of Tustin, California, '~hereby
resolves as follows;
SEC?ION 1: Pursuant to Labor Code Section 3363.5, any
person performing voluntary services for the City of Tustin with-
out remuneration at the specific request o£ the Chief of Police
as a City of Tustin Police Reserve Officer, or at the request of
the City Administrator, is designated and shall be deemed ~9 be
an employe.e of the City of Tustin for the purposes of workers
compensation coverage while performing said services.
SECTION 2' Nothing in this Resolution shall be construed
to affect the status of persons described in Section 830.6 of
the Penal Code, as set forth under Division 4 (commencing with
Section 3200) of the Labor Code or, more specifically, to affect
the distinctions made therein as between regular, £ulltime police
officers and volunteer or reserve officers.
SECTION 3: Nothing in this Resolution shall be construed
as making a person providing voluntary services to the City of
Tustin an employee for any purposes other than for workers
compensation coverage, nor as a grant or enlargement of any other
right, duty, or responsibility of a volunteer.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of April, 1980.
