HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 79-0808 :LO 16 !8 ~0 ~6 ~8 ~9 51 RESOLUTION NO. 79-80 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE SYCAMORE AVENUE STREET RECONSTRUCTION AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS. WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, to construct certain street' main- tenance improvements and appurtenant work designated as. Sycamore Avenue Street Reconstruction; WHEREAS, the City Engineer has presented plans and speci- fications for the construction of said work; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and speci- fications presented by the City .Engineer be and are hereby approved as the plans and specifications for the construction of the Sycamore Avenue Street Reconstruction BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the work specified in the aforesaid olans and specifications which said advertisement shall be substantially in the following words · . and figures, to-wit' "NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS" SEALED PROPOSALS will be received at the office of the City Clerk, Tustin City Hall, 300 Centennial Way, Tustin, California, until 10-00 A.M. on the 20th day of November, 1979, at which time they will be publicly opened and read, for performing work as follows' Construction of Sycamore Avenue Reconstruction. , Bi ds are required for the entire work described herein' 3 8 lO 15 16 l? i8 2O 2~ 27 28 ~0 ITEM NO. The City of Tustin has budgeted a fixed amount for the work encompassed by these plans and specifications. In the event that the low bid exceeds or is less that the budgeted amount, the City reserves the right to reduce bid items to the contract as necessary to stay within the budgeted amount. The provisions of Section 4-103B of the Standard Specifications (increased or decreased quantities) shall not apply to this contract. Plans, specifications and proposal forms to be used for bidding on this project can only be obtained by prospective bidders at the office of the City Clerk, Tustin City Hall, 300 Centennial Way, Tustin California, 92680, upon payment o'f $5.00 per set, which amount shall be non-refundable. Plans and specifications will only be mailed out upon pay- ment of $10.00 per set, which amount shall be non-refundable. 'ii, In conformance with Section 37931 of the Government Code,::~ all bids shall be presented under sealed cover on the proposal~ form provided, and accompanied by one of the following forms ii of bidder's security. ~- a. Cash. b. Cashier's c. Certified d. A bid shall not be considered unless one of the forms of bidder's security is enclosed therewith. A Surety Bond for payment of labor and materials will be required in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the estimate total contract price and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the estimated total .. contract price in the form attached to the contract documents .''~ Said bonds shall be issued by a company having a rating of':A+AA or better. ..' ; ..
