HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 79-36RESOLUTION NO. 79-36 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFI- CATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PROJECT I RED HILL AVENUE STORM DRAIN NO. 3 AND PROJECT II SYCAMORE AVENUE STORM DRAIN AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS. WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, to construct Project I, Redhill Avenue Storm Drain No. 3 and Project II, Sycamore Av. enue Storm Drain,' and .. . · WHEREAS, the' City Engineer has presented plans and specifications for the construction of said work at these locations, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and specifications presented by the City Engineer be and are hereby approved as the plans and specifications for the construction of Project I, Redhill Avenue Storm Drain No. 3 and Project II, Sycamore Avenue Storm Drain BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to 'advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or pro- posals for the doing of the work specified in the aforesaid plans and specifications which said advertisement shall be substantially in the following words and figures, to-wit- "NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS" SEALE'D PROPOSALS will be received at the office of the City clerk, Tustin City Hall, 300 Centennial Way, Tustin, California, until"2 o'clock p.m. on the 21st ~-' of June, 1979, 'at which time they will be publicly opened and read, for performing work as fol 1 ows' Construction of Project I, Redhill AVenue Storm Drain No. 3 and Project II, Sycamore Avenue Storm Drain. Plans and specifications will only be mailed out upon payment of $15.00 per set, which amount shall be non-refundable. In conformance with Section 37931 of the Government' Code, 'all b~ds sh~ll be presented under sealed cover on the proposal form provided and accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security- a. Cash b. cashier's check made payable to the City of Tustin c. certified check made payable to the City'of Tustin d. bidder's bond executed by an accredited surety insurer, made payable to the City of Tustin The security shall be in an amount equal to at least ten percent of the amount of the bid. A bid shall not be considered unless one of the forms of bidder's security is enclosed therewith.. A Surety Bond for payment of labor and materials w~ll be requ~recl in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the estimated total contract price and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the estimated total contract price in the form attached to the contract documents. · Said bonds shall be issued by a company having a rating of A+AA or better'. City of Tustin reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and/or waive any informality on a bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening thereof. ~he. contract will be awarded to the lowest qualified bidder. Provisions of the State Contract Act are not applicable, and propect~ve bidders will not be required to be prequalified. All work to be done under the direct supervision of the City Engineer, City of Tustin. Copies of all collective bargaining agreements relating to the work as set forth in the aforementioned Labor Code are on file and available for inspection in the office of the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Statistics and Research.
