HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 79-01RESOLUTION NO. 79-1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFI- CATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALK, CURB, AND DRIVE APRONS AT MISCELLANEOUS LOCATIONS AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS. WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, to construct sidewalk, curb, and drive aprons at miscellaneous lo- cat ions, and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has presented plans and specifications for the construction of said work at these locations, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and specifications presented by the City Engineer be and are hereby approved as the plans and specifications for the construction of sidewalk, curb, and drive aprons at miscellaneous locations. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or pro- posals for' the doing of the work specified in the aforesaid plans and specifications which said advertisement shall be substantially in the following words and figures, to-wi t · "~OTICE TO CONTRACTORS" SEALED PROPOSALS will be received at the office of the City Clerk, Tustin City Hall, 300 Centennial ~'ay, Tust~n, California, untO! ll o'clock a.m. on the 6th day of February, 1979, at which time they will be publicly opened and read, for performing work as follows- cat ions. In tl~e event that the low bid exceeds the budscted o~noun[, the City reserves the r~ht to deleteo~e or more of the proposed projects fro:~ the contract as necessary to stay ~-~itl~in the budgeted a~:~uat, the provisioas of Section 4-103~ ot tl~e Sta~da~'d 51~ecifications {increased or decreased quantities} shall not al>ply to this contract. Plans, specifications and proposal fon..ns to be used for bidding on this project can only be obtained by prospective bidders at the office of the City Cle~'k, lustin City Hall, £entennial al; Hain Street, T~stin, California, - 92689, upon payment of $5.00 per set which an:ount shall be non-refundable. Plans and specifications ~vill only be mailed out'upon payment of $7.00 per set. which amount shall be non-refundable. In con¥ormance with Section 37931 of the Government Code, all bids shall be presented under sealed cover on the proposal form provided and accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security' . · a. Cash. b. Cashier's check r.:ade payable to the City of Tustin. c. Certified check made payable to the City of lustin. d. Bidder's bond executed by an accredited surety insurer, ~nade payable to the City of lustin. ' The security shall be in an amount equal tb at least ten percent (10~) of · the amount of the bid. A bid shall not be considered unless one of the for,~s of bidde, r's security is enclosed therewith. · A Surety Bond for payment of labor and materials will be required in the amount of fifty percent (50;~) of the estimated total contract price and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (lOO%) of ti~.e estimated total contract price in the form attached to the Contract documents.
