HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 78-1328 10 11 13 15 16 17 18 19 ~0 26 RESOLUTION NO. 78-132 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF MOULTON PARKWAY AND MYFORD ROAD WHEREAS, the City of Tustin desires to realign and improve Moulton Parkway from Redhill Avenue to Harvard Avenue and to extend Myford Road south across the AT & SF Railroad tracks to the realigned Houlton Parkway; and WHEREAS, Moulton Parkway and Myford Road are important arteries in the County of Orange and of general county interest; and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2, of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a county, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any city in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a city; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County Budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1979-80 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Tustin hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County funds the amount of $218,500, said amount to be matched' by funds from said city, to be used to aid said city in the improvement of Moulton Parkway and Myford Road, and for the acquisition of necessary rights of way; said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be in accordance with the attached project statement; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisitior~. of rights of way on Moulton Parkway and Myford Road, in the manner providec, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Tustin agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of imProvements and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 1979-80.
