HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 78-103.1 2 8 9 '10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 26 2'7 28 29 3O 31 RESOLUTION NO. 78-103 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING lHE ORANGE COUNTY TRANS- PORTATION COMMISSION TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ORANGE COUNTY FEDERAL AID URBAN PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF MAIN STREET AND BRYAN AVENUE. WHEREAS, the City of Tustin, California, desires to improve Main Street and Bryan Avenue from Newport Avenue to Browning Avenue; and WHEREAS, Main Street and Bryan Avenue is important to transportation planning in the County of Orange and of general County interest; and WHEREAS, the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1978 provides Federal funds for expenditure on the Federal -Aid Urban (FAU) System of Highways and non-highway public mass transit projects; and WHEREAS, THE FAU System consists of certain eligible State HighwayS, County roads and city streets located within urban and urbanized areas of the State; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation i.ntends that funds be allocated to the urbanized and urban areas on the basis of proportional population in conformance with the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1978; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation has specified that each urban and urbanized area must develop an acceptable orocess for reviewing projects and recommending priorities and that the appropriate regional plan- ning agency (SCAG) must concur with the process; and WHEREAS, a FAU process has been approved for the County of Orange, in accordance with the above requirements, which will establish a FAU prog. rai,~; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Tustin, California, hereby requests that 'the improvement of Main Street and Bryan Avenue from Newport Avenue to Browning Avenue be included in the Orange County FAU Program; said right of way and improvements to be in accordance with the attached preliminary project statement; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED' that, by this Resolution, the City of Tustin, . California,' will comply with the basic policies and procedures of the Orange County FAU Program; and its share of the cost of improvements and/or rights of way which is presently estimated to be $78,274.00, will be available for the fiscal year 1979-80.
