PUBLIC INPUT CLOSED SESSION - Councilmember Doyle announced that the City Council would convene in closed session to confer with the City Attorney about pending litigation to which the City was a party: (1) Garcia v. City of Tustin, Case Number 01CC02149 (state court matter); (2) Santa Ana Unified School District, et al. v. City of Tustin, et al., Case Number 01CC02595 (state court matter); and (3) Santa Ana Unified School District, et al. v. City of Tustin, et al., Case Number CV-01-3426 W JR (CTX) (federal court matter); and to confer with the City Attorney regarding significant exposure to litigation pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(b), claim of Jim Herold. A copy of the claim can be reviewed in the City Clerk's Office. ANGELS IN TUSTIN Councilmember Bone announced rescheduled to August 31,2001. that Angels in Tustin program had been' TDK 5TH ANNIVERSARY Councilmember Bone remarked that he and Counciimember Kawashima had attended the 5th anniversary of TDK and noted the company had doubled their sales in the last five years. Councilmember Kawashima mentioned TDK's 5th anniversary celebration and noted an outreach program to businesses was being developed by he and Councilmember Bone along with the Economic Development Council. REDISTRICTING Councilmember Bone reported that although Council had supported Proposal 5, the Redistricting Committee recommended Proposal 3C to the Board of Supervisors; however, he stated he would represent the City at the Board's meeting on July 17, 2001, in support of Proposal 5. EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION Councilmember Kawashima congratulated Diane Willumson on employee recognized in the Employee Showcase program. being the first FOURTH OF JULY Councilmember Kawashima stated the 4th of July parade and fireworks show were wonderful events. Mayor Worley remarked that this year's 4th of July fireworks show was the best ever. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON Councilmember Doyle commented on his reduction of power by 1/3 and the increase in his electric bill. CONCERTS IN THE PARK Mayor Worley reminded everyone that Concerts in the Park was underway on Wednesdays and invited everyone to attend. COMMITTEE REPORTS WATER ADVISORY COUNCIL OF ORANGE COUNTY (WACO) Councilmember Bone commented that WACO had announced that through May, Orange County water usage had been reduced.
