HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1017 (1989) 1 ORDINANCE NO. 1017 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING 3 SECTION 1711 OF THE TUSTIN CITY CODE PERTAINING TO ACCEPTING THE REQUIREMENTS 4 OF SECTION 13522 OF THE PENAL CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO THE 5 TRAINING OF PEACE OFFICERS AND OF PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHERS 6 7 The City Council of the City of Tustin, California does 8 hereby ordain that Section 1711 of the Tusein City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 9 "1711. PEACE OFFICER AND PUBLIC 10 SAFETY DISPATCHER TRAINING 11 A. State Aid 12 The City declares that it desires to qualify to receive aid from the State 13 under the provisions of Chapter 1, Title IV, Part 4, of the State Penal Code, for 14 the training of peace officers and public safety dispatchers. 15 B. Standards for Recruitment and 16 Training 17 Pursuant to Section 13522 of the State Penal Code, the City, while receiving 18 aid from the State pursuant to Chapter One, Title IV, Part 4 of the State Penal 19 Code, will adhere to the standards for recruitment and training established by 20 the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and T~aining for the Z1 training of peace officers and of public safety dispatchers. C. Inquiries Concerning Recruitment Z3 and Training ~4 Pursuant to 'Section 13512 of the State Penal Code, the Commission and its Z5 representatives-may make such inquiries as deemed appropriate by the Commission Z6 to ascertain that the City's peace officer and public safety dispatcher 27 personnel adhere to standards for selection and training established by 28 the Commission on Peace Officer 1 1 $tandards and Training.
