2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
3 TUSTIN CITY CODE SECTION 5340d
(PARKING OF VEHICLE OVER 6,000 lbs.)

The City Council of the City of Tustin, California,
5 does hereby ordain as follows:
6 The City Council hereby finds and determines as
f ol 1 ows:

WHEREAS, the City has encountered difficulty in the
8 enforcement of illegal truck parking within the corporate
limits of the City; and

WHEREAS, on November 4, 1985, the City Council ordered
10 that Tustin City Code Section 5340d be amended to prohibit the
parking of any vehicle over 6,000 pounds for more than two
11 hours within the City so as to enable the enforcement of
truck parking to be better managed throughout the City.

Section 1: Section 5340d of the Tustin City Code shall
13 be revised to read as follows:
14 "d Parking of Commercial Vehicles.
15 No person shall stop, stand or park any
vehicle of an unladen weight of 6,000 pounds or
16 over on any public street, highway, thoroughfare
or alley for a period of more than two (2) conse-
17 cutive hours in any part of the City except:
18 (1) while loading or unloading property for
such time as is reasonably necessary to complete
19 said work; or
20 (2) when such vehicle is parked in connection
with, and in aid of, the performance of a service
21 to or on a property in the block in which such
vehicle is parked, for a time reasonably necessary
22 to complete such service; provided, however, that
there shall be specifically excluded from the
23 provisions of this section pick-up trucks, panel
trucks, station wagons and limousines; (See Cali-
24 fornia Vehicle .Code Section 390 re weight ratings;
see Health and Safety Code Section 18255 regarding
25 parking of mobile homes); and provided further,
however, that upon a showing of special circum-
26 stances, the Police Department may grant a special
permit for parking for a period not to exceed 24
27 consecutive hours."
28 PASSED AND ADOPTED at a meeting of th'e City Council of

second reading and duly passed and adopted at a regular meeting held on the 2rid
