HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 696 (1976)190 1 2 3 4 5 6' 7 8 9 10 11 12 13' 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 221 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 ORDINANCE NO. 696 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN PERTAINING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE TUSTIN COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY The City Council of the City of Tustin hereby ordains as follows: 1. Recognizing the existence of the redevelopment agency in the City of Tustin as established by California Health and Safety Code Section 33000, the City Council declares that there is a need for the redevelopment agency to function in the City of Tustin. t 2. The City Council, purusant to California Health and Safety Code Section 33200, declares itself to be the Redevelopment Agency of the City, and all the rights, powers, duties, privileges and immunities shall be deemed vested in the City Council as the Agency. 3. The Agency created by this ordinance shall be known ae; the "Tustin Community Redevelopment Agency". 7 4. Members of the Agency shall not receive any compensation i but shall be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses, including travel, incurred in the discharge of their duties as members of the Agency. 5. The territorial limits of the Agency shall be the territorial limits of the City of Tustin. Designated survey areas for redevelopment projects shall be established by Resolution, adopted by the City Council, or in the alternative, the City Council may by Resolution authorize the City Planning Commission to designate survey areas. The Project Area shall be selected b the Planning Commission in accordance with the provisions of California Health and Safety Code Section 33320.1 and following. t 6. The Tustin Community Redevelopment Agency shall be vested with all powers as provided by the Community Redevelopment Law and 0 r 'k 191 1 shall take actions by resolution. 2 7. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its 3 passage and option as an urgency ordinance. It is necessary 4 to adopt this Ordinance as an urgency major in order to preserve 5 and protect the public health, safety and welfare, and specifically, 6 it is imperative that certain parts of the City of Tustin be 7 improved without delay. It is in the best interests of the public. 8 health, safety and general welfare that these improvements be 9 initiated at this time in order to avoid increased costs of 10 construction,and other inflationary costs: and City Council finds 11 that such cost-efficient operation will benefit both the citizens 12 of the area improved, and the citizens of the.
