HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 659 (1975) ORDINiNCE NO. 659 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN AMENDING THE TUSTIN CITY CODE RELATIVE TO ANIMAL CONTROL REGULATIONS, LICENSING OF ANIMAL FACILITIES AND AMENDING FEE SCHEDULE- The City Council of the City of Tustin, California, does ordain as follows: 1. Section 4-1 of the Tustin City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 4-1: Ordinance #2836, An Ordinance of the County of Orange, California, Revising Animal Control Regulations And Adding Licensing Requirements for Animal Facilities, passed and adopted by the Board of Supervisors ef the County of Orange on May 6, 1975, three copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby adopted by reference as if the same were set forth herein in full, with the exception of Section 1 and Section 16 thereof, and provided further that anything in the foregoing Ordinance #2836 to the contrary notwithstanding, it shall be unlawful for any person to keep, maintain or cause to be kept or maintained on any single parcel of property in the City of Tustin the following: (1) more th~n three dogs, except those under three months of age; (2) more than three common house cats, except those under three months of age; (3) more than ten birds or fowl; (4) more than ten hamsters, white rats, mice, squirrels, chipmunks, non-poisonous snakes, ~ow1 insects, bees or rabb~.ts; (5) any animal, bird, insect, serpent or rodent not permitted under any of the preceding sections for which no permit is in effect, as provided herein; (6) any bird, fowl or rabbit maintained outside of the residence of the o~mer and closer than fifty feet from any neighborS. residence. 2. Sects. on 4-2 of the Tustin City Code is hereby amended to'read as follows: 29 Section 4-2: The following charges and fees are hereby adopted: A. For animals impounded at the Animal Shelter: 1. Impound fees: Minimum a) Large animal (horse, cow, etc.) actual cost or .......... $25.00 b) Medium animal (pig, sheep, etc.) actual cost or ............. t0.00 c) Dog, cat, or other small animal actual cost or ............. 10.00 (Except that animals that are impounded more than once within a twelve (12) month period will be charged above fees plus fifty per- cent (50%) of prior impounding charges.) 2. A dog license can be sold only for the period 6 ~overed by a valid rabies vaccination certificate accept- able to the California Department of Health (CA. Admin. ~ Code 2606.4). 8 Note 2. The r~duced fee for a neutered animal will be allowed only upon presentation of a certificate of 9 spaying, castration, or.of the dog's inability to reproduce signed by a licensed veterinarian, OR upon other 10 proof acceptable to the Director- !1 Note 3. Any person who fails to renew a license ~ithin fifteen (15) days after it has expired shall'be !2 deemed delinquent and shall pay a late fee of five dollars ($5.00) in addition to the prescribed fee. Note 4.
