AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 157 AS AMENDED, RELATIVE
TO DAY NURSERIES AND NURSERY SCHOOLS
The City Council of the City of Tustin, California does ordain
as follows:
Section 1. Ordinance
of rol No, 157 iS hereby amended by the addition thereto
"SectiO.n 11.13~ 'Day Nursery, A place where four (4) or more
children are left for daytime care.,,
_Section 2. Ordinance No. IS? is hereby amended by the addition
thereto of the following:
Section 11~ 'Nursery School, a public o~ private agency engaged
~n edu~ationa~ activity with Pre-school children, in/not in con-
junction with daily care.,, '
~. Sections 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, and 4.15 of Ordinance 157 are
hereby amended by the addition thereto of 'the following:
"Uses Permitted
- Day Nursery
Use Permit Required - Yes
Maximum Allowable Height - Thirty (30) feet
Minimum Building Site Required
Square Feet '
Minimum Lot Width Required - 10,000
at Property Line - 100 feet
Maximum Lot Coverage .
"' Minimum Front Yard ....
- same as required for primary
Minimum Side Yard uses in the district
- same as required for primary
Minimum Rear Yard uses in the district
- same as required for primary
Minimum Lot Area Per Family uses in the district ,

Off-Street Parking Required - One (1) space for each staff member
plus one (1) loading space for each'
eight (8) children. Loading spaces
shall be located for easy circulation
and shall not interfere with other
required parking
Additional Requirements
1. Building requiremsnts and indoor and outdoor space
required per child are established by the City of
Tustin Uniform Building Code and by the State Department
of Social Welfare.
2. Outdoor play areas shall be screened from surrounding
properties by a 6'8:" high solid wall or fence, except
-'- when 'play areas abut public park or Playfield.
3- Structures proposed for use as a day nursery or a
nursery school shall be inspected and approved by
the Fire Department prior to occupancy.,,

are hereby amended by the addition thereto of the following:
