HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 345 (1967) ORDINANCE NO. 345 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY 0F TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ARTICLE III OF THE TUSTIN CITY CODE, RELATIVE TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION The City Council of the City of Tustin does ordain as' follows: Article III of Chapter 2 of the Tustln City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: ARTICLE !II PLANNING COMMISSION Sac. 2-9. Planning Commission The Planning Commission of the City shall have the compo- sition, jurisdiction, duties, serms of office and other characteristics as provided by law and herein specified. Sec..2-10. Composition} Vote The Planning Commission will consist of seven (7) members appointed by the City Council, each of whom shall have one vote in all matters to be determined. Sec. 2-11. Registered Voters. No person shall be eligible to be appointed to serve or to consinue to serve on the Planning Commission who is not a registered voter of the City of Tustin. Sec. 2.-12. Notice of Vacsnc~ One Month Prior to the Expiration of the Term of a Member. The City Council shall publish a notice of a public hear- ing to be held for the purpose of appointing a member or m.embers of the Pi, anning Commission one month prior to expiration of serm, and announcing that applications will be sccepsed from all persons oualified for service on the Commission. Appointment shall be made from the persons filing such applications. Sac. 2-13. Aoooinnment and Term of Office of Members. Members of the Planning Commission shall be appointed by Resolution of the City Council adopted at or following ioner shall serve for a term of f years, except that when a member dies, resigns, or is removed prior to the expiraSion of his term, then h~s successor shall be appointed ~o serve the remainder of such term. Upon a vacancy occurring through resignation, removal .. or death of a member Prior to the expiration of his term, the City CounciX may appoint a Successor to serve} the remainder of said term without compliance with Sac-i tions 2-12 and 2-13. Sec. 2-15. Removal of Members. Any member of the Planning Commission may be removed at any time by the City Council. Sec. 2-16. Meetings. "' The Planning Commission shall hold its regular meetings 5 on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, at 7:30 P.M., in the council chambers of the City of Tustin, 6 except when such day falls on a legal holiday, in which event the Planning Commission shall meet at 7:30 P.M. 7 on the first week day following,which is not a legal holiday. The Planning Commission may meet at such other 8 times and places as may be determined hereafter from tim~ to time by the City Council or the Planning Commission 9 to be necessary or convenient. 10 The compensation of the Planning Commissioners shall be determined from time to time by the City Council. 11 Sec. 2-17 Subject to the provisions of State law, the Planning 15 Commission shall be, and it hereby is declared to be, regulated by the provisions of the Government Code of 14 the State of California, Statutes of the State of California, and such amendLments as may be adopted here- 15 after from time to time to either or both. · 16 PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City 17 !
