2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA,
AMENDING SECTION 2-36 OF THE CITY CODE RELATIVE
3 TO THE POWERS OF THE DIRECTOR OF PERSONNEL.
4 The City Council of the City of Tustin, California,
5 does ordain that Section 2-B6 of the Tustin City Code be, and the
8 same hereby is amended to read as follows:
V Section 2-36 Powers as director, of. personnel
8 It shall be the duty of the city administrator to
act as director of personnel. He shall have the
9 authority to appoint, promote, demote, remove,
reassign, or dismiss all employees of the City,
10 except department heads, city clerk, city treasurer,
and city attorney, ~and to suspend all employees
ll except the above-named positions, and to temporarily
suspend any department head, subject to review
12 the City Council at its first regular meeting next
following any such action, and subject to any and
13 all applicable rules, regulations, position alloca-
tions, .and financial appropriations. On personnel
14 matters pertaining to department heads~ other than
temporary suspension, as hereinabove provided, the
15 city administrator shall make recommendations to
the City Council for action by the City Council.
.16 For all employees other than department headS., normal
merit pay increases will be approved or denied by
" 1V the city administrator. Normal merit pay increases
for department heads, and exceptional merit pay
18 increases for all other employees, m~st be approved
by the City Council..
