HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 218 (1963) 1057 ORDINANCE NO. 218 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITT OF TUSTIN, APPROV~NG THE .ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED AS "WATSON ANNEXATION" TO THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN: WHEREAS, on March 18, 1963, the Co~mcil of the City of Tustin did pass and adopt Resolution No. 647, declaring that proceedings have' been initiated by the City Council of the lCity of T~stin, California, to annex to said City certain uninhabited '~territory des- cribed therein and designated as ~W~iTSON ANNEXATION" and giving notice of the proposed annexation, and said Resolution described the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and WHEREAS, said Resolution did contain a notice of the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City of Tustin would hear protests made by any person owning real property within the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not less than forty (40) mor more than sixty (60) days from the date of passage of said Resolution; and ~RE.~IS, THE Boundary Commission of the County o~ Orange, State of California, did, in session duly assembled, approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said annexation; and 'WHEREAS, ON May 6, 1963, at the hour of .7:30 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, 145 West Third Street, City of T~stin, County of Orange, State of California, said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution for hearing protests to the said annexation, the City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation, and did determine that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the privately owned territory proposed to be annexed, as shown on the last equalized assess- ment roll, or by public owners of one-half of the value of the publicly owned territory proposed to be annexed, as determined by siid legislative body; and WHEREAS, said territory 'is contiguous to the City of Tustin, and is uninhabited territory in the County of Orange; NOW TEEFOE, the City Council of the City of Tustin does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of T~stin, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory be, and ~he same hereby is annexed to the City of Tustin. 1058 That said territory, the annexation of which the City of Tustin has herein approved~ is all that territory situated in the County of Orange, State of California, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the original City boundary of the City of Tustin, said poinot being on the surveyed cehterline of Yorba Street, distant thereon N. 0 10'30" W., 356 feet from the surweyed centerline of First Street, said point also being an angle point in the boundary line of the Andrew E. Mbrris Annexation to the City of Tustin as per Ordinance No. 103, passed and adopted by the Tustin City Council on October l, 1956; Thence, following along said Andrew R. Morris Annexation boundary line, the following courses and distances; S. 89°51'45'' W., a distance of 178.00 feet, to an angle point; N. 0°10'30'' W., a distance of 101.60 feet, to an angle point; N. 89o52'45" W., a distance of 430.20 feet, to an angle point; N. 0°14'45'' W., a distance of 80.46 feet, to an angle point, said angle point also being an angle point in the existing City boundary line of the City of Santa Ana, as per City of Santa Ana Ordinance No. 379; Thence, leaving said Andrsw R. Morris Annexation boundary line and following along said<~iCity boundary of the City of Santa Ana, N. 0°14'45'' W., a distance of 206 feet, more or less, to the North line of the parcel of land conveyed to Norman E. Watson et al as per deed recorded in Book 5235, Page 378, Official Records of Orange County, California; Thence, leaving said City boundary of the City of Santa Ana, N. 89°52'45" E., along said North line of Watson property, a distance of 588 fett, more or less, to a point on the West line of Yorba Street (40 feet wide) said point also being an angle point in the Yorba Street Annexation to the City of Tustin as per Ordinance No. 135, passed and adopted by the Tustin City Council on May 9, 1960; TheBce, following along said Yorba Street Annexation boundary line, N. 89 46'30" E., a distance of 20.00 feet, to the surveyed centerline of Yorba Street, said centerline also being an angle point in the original City boundary of the City of ~stin/ Thence, follov~ing along said original City boundary S. 0°10'30" E., a distance of 376.40 feet to the point of begimning. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tastin at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 20th day of May, 1963.
