HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 191 (1962) ORDINANCE NO. 191 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 8, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE AND PAYMENT OF ORDERS AND WARRANTS DRAWN ON THE CITY TREASURY. The City' Council of the City of Tustin do~s ordain as follows: Section !: It shall be the duty of the City Treasurer file ~ith the City Clerk a=istatement of all monies in the various funds in the City Tre~su~, when requested~ by the City Clerk to do so. Section ~: No order Or warrant upon the City Treasu~ shall be drawn unless in pursuance of an Ordinance,_ Resohtion, or Motion duly passed by the City' Council, and unless there Ls sufficient money in tb~ fund from which it is drawn to meet the same. Section ~: All warrants or orders upon the City Treasu~- for the pay~ent of a~ money shall be signed by the Mayor, or Mayor Pro ~em, and countersigned by the City Clerk or Deputy City Clerk. ~ ~ve~ warrant or order so drawn the~ shall be soecified the name of the person wo whom the same is payable, the date and amount thereof, -Lhe service or indebtedness for which it is to be issued, and the fund out of which it is to be ~aid, and shall be made payable to the oerson ~med therein or his order. Section ~: No demand against the City of .~stin shall be al!o~ed by the City Council, nor an order or warrant ordered drawn paying the same, at a~ t~me other than at a regular meeting of said City Co~nci!, and uoon the claimant having filed with the City Clerk an itemized statement in writing, giving the date of the services rendered, the character of tb.e work done, and the supplies or mater- ials furnished., Said c!a~ shall be in such form as may be required from t~e to time by the C~ty Clerk or by the City Council; orovided however, that orders ~nd warrants for regular monthly salaries or other obligations may be approved in advance to be oaid monthly, regularly without further Special authorization. Section ~: It s~ be the duty of the City Clerk to keep in a beck, regularly raled and printed for ~hat purpose, a record or ~gister of all warrants drawn upon the Treasury, speci- fying therin the date, amount and number of each warrant so drawn, in %:~ose favor, for what purpose, and uoon what fund Lhe same is drawn.
