AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF
CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED
"BEN BROWN ANNEXATION" TO THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
WHEREAS, on the 5th day of September, 1961, the Council
of the City of Tustin did pass and adopt Resolution No. 565
giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited
territory to the City of Tustin, said territory being therein
designated as 'BEN BROWN ANNEXATION,m said Resolution describ-
ing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be .annexed; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 565 did contain a notice
of the day, hour and placle when and where the Council of the
City would hear protests made by any person owning real property
within the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said
hearing being not less than forty mor more than sixty days from
the date of passage of said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the l?th day of October, 1961, at the hour
of 7:30 o'clock P.M.,in the Council Chambers in the City Hall
of the City of Tustin, County of Orange, State of California,
said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said
Resolution-No. 565 for hearing protests to the said annexation
the said C~ty Council did hear and pass upon all protests ~
made to the proposed annexation and did ds~ermine that protests
had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the
privately owned territory proposed to be annexed as shown by The
last equalized assessment roll, nor by public owners of one-half
of the value of the publicly owned territory proposed to be
annexed as determined by said legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of
Tustin, and is uninhabited territory in the County of Orange;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said Council of the City of
Tustin does hereby approve the annexation of the territory
hereinafter described to the city of Tustin, and does hereby
further ordain that the said territory be and is hereby annexed
to the City of Tustino
That said territory, the annexation of which to the
City of Tustin is hereby approved, is all that territory situate
in the County of Orange, State of California, mae particularly
described as follows:
~'~ Beginning at the Northwest Corner of the Southwest
1/4 of Lot "M' of the Stafford and Tustin Tract as
-- shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 2, pages
619 and 619 of Miscellaneons Records of Los Angeles
County, California, said corner also being an angle
point in the existing city boundary of the City
of Tustin, California as annexed by the South Tustin
Avenue Annexation in accordance with Ordinance No.
136 passed and adopted by the Tustin City Council
on July 5, 1960, said corner also being on the East
line of Tustin Avenue being sixty-six feet in width.
Thence N. O°41'01· E., along the West line of said
Lot 'M', said line also being the existing city
boundary of the City of Tustin as per said South
Tustin Ave. Annexation, a distance of 270.27 feet,
more or less, to the Northwest corner of the South
1/2 of the Northwest 1/4 of said Lot "M';

Thence S 9 30'59~ E.,.departing from the existing
City boundarK, along the North line of the South 1/2
of the NW l/ of said Lot ~M'~ a distance of 772.86
feet, more or less, to the Northeast corner of the
South, 1/2 of the NorthweSt 1/4 of said Lot "M~;

Thence, S. 0 43'47'W., along the East line of the
Northwest 1/4 of said Lot "M~, a distance of 270.27
feet, more-or less, to the center of said Lot.~M~;
Thence, S. 0°43'47~ W., along the East line of the
Northwest 1/4 of said Lot "M~, a distance of 270.27
feet, more or less, to the center of said Lot
Thence, N. 89°30'59m W., along the South line of the
Northwest 1/4 of said Lot mM"', a distance of 414.26
feet, more or less, to an angle point in the exist-
ing city boundary of the City of Tustin as per said
South Tustin Ave. Annexation;
Thence, N. 89°30'59' W., continuing along the South
line of the Northwest 1/4 of said Lot "M·, said South
line also being said existing City boundary of the
City of Tustin, a distance of 358.60 feet to the
point of beginning.'
PASSED AND ADOPTED at alregular meetingof the City
Council of the City of Tustin, California, held on the 20th day of November, 1961. ~~

hereby certify that the whole number' of the members of the
City Council of the City of Tustin is five; .that the above
and foregoing Ordinance was duly and regularly introduced
and read at a regular meeting of the City Council held on
the 6th day of November, 1961, and was given its second
reading and duly passed and adopted at a regular meeting
of the City Council held on the 6th day of November, 1961,
and was given its second reading and duly passed and adopted
at a regular meeting held on the 20th day of November, 1961,
by the following vote:
