HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 73 (1948)I ORDINANCE N0. 73 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION FOR THE CITY CLERK AND AMENDING ORDINANCES N0. 3, 19, 43 and 64 OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN. The City Council of the City of Tustin does ordain as follows: Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinances No. 31 19, 43 and 64 of the City of Tustin is hereby amended to provide that the City Clerk shall i receive compensation at the rate of100.00 per month. Section 2. Allordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with, or inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency, necessary for the preservation of the public peace,'health and safety, and the facts constituting such emergency are as follows: The peace and welfare of the City of Tustin, as well as the proper enforcement of the law and order therein, re4uire the services of the City Clerk on a,full—time basis, requiring regular hours whereby the City Hall is kept open and made available to the public at all reason— able and ordinany times, and that the salary of $50.00 per month or originally fixed is inadequate, and the services of a competent person to fill said position cannot longer be obtained unless an ddequate salary is provided, for which an ordinance increasing the compensation to the City Clerk of the City of Tustin is urfently and immediately needed;I therefore this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption by the City Council. Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this - ordinance, to its certification by the mayor, and to its attestation by the City Clerk and shall cause this ordinance to be published by one insertion in the Tustin News, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed and circulated in the City of Tustin, County of Orange, California.
